What is Electron Publish Pro?

Connect a GitHub repo and get a report on what blocks a signed release: package.json, electron-builder config, security settings, macOS signing and notarization, Windows signing, Linux targets and auto-update. Building and signing your app for you is next on the roadmap.

What does the check read from my repo?

Accepted Answer

Your file tree and up to 77 well-known config and entry files (package.json, electron-builder config, entitlements, main and preload scripts), read through the GitHub API from your default branch. We don't clone or build your code. The file contents are sent to an AI model (Anthropic Claude) to write the report.

Do you store my source code?

Accepted Answer

No. Files are read when you run a check, and only the resulting report is saved. You can delete a project and its reports at any time.

Question 4

Why does GitHub ask for repository access?

Reading a private repo through a GitHub OAuth app requires the broad repo scope. We use it only to read the files the check needs. You can revoke access at any time in your GitHub settings under Applications.

Is it really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. During the beta the check is free, up to 5 checks a day, with no credit card. If paid features come later, they will be announced on the roadmap before they launch.

Can you build and sign my app?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. Signed macOS builds, Windows code signing and GitHub Releases with auto-update are next on the roadmap. Vote for what you need so we know what to build first.

Question 7

How accurate is the report?

Accepted Answer

It is an AI review of your configuration, not a real build. It catches common blockers like a missing appId, hardened runtime off, no notarization setup or contextIsolation disabled, but it can miss things or be wrong. Use it as a checklist, and tell us when it gets something wrong.

Which build tools are supported?

Accepted Answer

The checks are written for electron-builder. Electron Forge projects are detected, but some checks assume electron-builder settings.
